    Great city tour Cusco

    The city of Cusco is a living cultural legacy of humanity since immemorial times in South America, being the oldest city in the continent inhabited over 3,000 years ago.

    Due to its attractiveness and magic, it is considered the archeological capital of South America and it demonstrates its living cultural legacy to humanity through its customs, typical clothes, language (Quechua), typical dishes, dances, indigenous celebrations, and also its religious syncretism (Inca and catholic.)

    Cusco is considered to be without a doubt the best tourist destination in our country nowadays, where its old-age constructions and history will transport you to live its enchanting and particularly beautiful past.

    CITY TOUR CUSCO is essential during your stay and recommended for your acclimation process during your first days in our city, as well as before going on a hike, or visit the city of MACHUPICCHU, a half day tour (from 1:00 to 6:00 PM).

    TRIP ITINERARY

    ITINERARY

    After lunch, at 1:00 pm, we will pick you up at your hotel and we will begin the city circuit. Visiting first:

    TEMPLE OF THE SUN OR QORICANCHA: without a doubt it is the most important sacred temple of the Inca Empire, as it shows us the finest craftsmanship on its stones and the skilled pre-Columbian architecture. After a 40-minute stay, we will walk 15 minutes to the Cathedral of the Virgen of Asunción.

    THE CATHEDRAL: its construction began in 1560, built on top of the Inca Wiracocha palace. This colonial monument is a marvel that expresses colonial architecture and its religious art, showing approximately 300 paintings from the Cusqueñan School painters.

    Afterwards, we will continue our excursion riding our own vehicle, on a 20-minute ride to the Archeological Site of Sacsayhuaman.

    SACSAYHUAMAN: impressive construction built on megalithic engraved stones. Its architecture reflects the value and importance it had during Inca times. After a 15-minute ride, we will visit Qenqo.

    QENQO: Means labyrinth. It was used as an Inca adoration center for offerings and sacrifices. Then, we will visit

    PUCA PUCARA (REDDISH FORT): used as a fort. It is name is the result of the amount of iron on its land, that gives it reddish color. We will then head towards the following destination Tambomachay.

    TAMBOMACHAY (TEMPLE OF WATER): adoration center for the cult of water. We will finally return to the city of Cusco, with an impressive panoramic view along the way; with a detailed view of the city of Cusco.

    And if that isn’t enough, you can head that night to enjoy a typical regional dance show. All is included in the service (visit optional)
